The oldest Demarcated and Regulated Region in the world stretches over 250,000 hectares, with 44,000 hectares of vineyards and is split into three sub-regions: Baixo Corgo, Cima Corgo and Douro Superior, each with its own unique and distinct terroir. Come and discover the similarities and the differences between wines that showcase the DNA of each sub-region. * Tasting reserved for national and international guests.

JOSKO GRAVNER, THE FATHER OF ORANGE WINE

An essential name in the wine world, Josko Gravner is a revolutionary. He gave up fame and success, with prizes and wines sold out before even hitting the market, to listen to nature. He got rid of equipment in the winery, bought amphorae and focused the whole process on the vines. He is a major name, considered by many to be the father of so-called "orange" wines. He is the guest of honour at the 15th edition of the Essence of Wine - Porto.

The Quinta do Monte d´Oiro has played a vital role in the revitalisation of the Lisbon wine region. Celebrating 20 years of precision, universality and passion the story of Quinta Monte d´Oiro has several chapters, many of them sub-chapters in the history of wine in Portugal. The driving force of the whole project is José Bento dos Santos, and since 2012 his son, Francisco, has taken the reins of the business.
